Future-Ready: AI-on-Demand’s key role in advancing AI, Data, and Robotics

The importance of Future-Ready AI solutions
As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, Europe is positioning itself at the forefront of ethical, innovative, and impactful AI applications. This event highlighted the critical role AIoD plays in enabling collaboration, fostering innovation, and providing cutting-edge tools for AI research and development. By bringing together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers, the conference underscored the necessity of scalable and trustworthy AI solutions that align with European values and regulations.
Day 1 recap: Laying the foundation for a stronger AI ecosystem
The first day of the event set the stage for meaningful discussions on the future of AI in Europe, with AIoD playing a central role in key sessions.
Opening session: Building a European AI ecosystem of excellence
AIoD, alongside ADRA, kicked off the event with a high-level discussion on building a European AI ecosystem that fosters innovation while ensuring competitiveness on a global scale. Experts debated strategies to integrate AI, data, and robotics into industry applications, emphasising the importance of collaboration between research institutions, businesses, and policymakers. AIoD’s contributions showcased how the platform serves as a bridge between cutting-edge research and market adoption.
From funding to fame: Communicating EU projects with impact
Another highlight of the day was AIoD’s dedicated session on dissemination and communication strategies for EU-funded AI projects. AIoD presented its Dissemination & Communications services, offering guidance on how researchers and project coordinators can maximise their impact through strategic storytelling, audience engagement, and leveraging digital platforms. This session provided valuable insights into how AI initiatives can gain visibility, attract stakeholders, and ensure long-term sustainability.
Birds-of-a-Feather workshops: Identifying emerging challenges
Day 1 featured Birds-of-a-Feather workshops, organised by clusters of projects, providing a unique opportunity for stakeholders to engage in focused discussions. These sessions aimed to identify emerging research and industry challenges, helping to inform the next iteration of the Strategic Research, Innovation, and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) and future project rounds. AIoD played a key role in these workshops, ensuring that the outcomes aligned with the broader European AI strategy and contributed to a more collaborative and effective AI ecosystem.
To close the first day, a Town Hall session, moderated by Cecille Huet (Head of Unit Robotics & AI Innovation and Excellence at the European Commission — DG CONNECT), AIoD and ADRA speakers, provided a space for workshop participants to share key takeaways, discuss overarching themes, and highlight challenges raised in their sessions. Through concise pitches and open dialogue, the discussion helped synthesise insights, address pressing concerns, and outline actionable next steps for advancing Europe’s AI and digital innovation landscape.
Day 2 recap: From research to market
The second day of the event highlighted the transition of AI research into real-world applications, with AIoD continuing to take centre stage in pivotal discussions.
AI-on-Demand: From research to market
AIoD led an insightful session dedicated to bridging the gap between AI research and commercial deployment. Speakers explored how the AIoD platform supports the journey from innovation to industry adoption, offering resources for startups, SMEs, and research institutions looking to scale their AI solutions. Case studies demonstrated successful use cases where AIoD-enabled technologies transitioned from academic research into market-ready applications.
Engaging with ADRA Topic Groups
Following this session, eight different ADRA Topic Group meetings took place, reinforcing the need for standardised frameworks, ethical AI deployment, and shared resources. The exchange of ideas paved the way for future collaborations and identified emerging challenges in AI development, ensuring that AI research continues to align with Europe’s evolving needs. At the end of the day, a Town Hall session, moderated by ADRA representative, provided a platform for Topic Groups participants to present key conclusions and recommendations from their discussions, fostering collaboration and aligning future priorities.
