AI-on-Demand showcases value for research projects at SHIFT-HUB Brokerage Event

On June 20, 2025, the AI-on-Demand Platform (AIoD) took part in the 2nd SHIFT-HUB International Online Brokerage Event, joining a dynamic lineup of innovators shaping the future of smart health in Europe. The event, hosted online, brought together stakeholders from across the healthcare innovation ecosystem to explore collaborative opportunities, emerging technologies, and the latest Horizon Europe Health Cluster calls.
During the morning plenary session, Martin Welss presented on behalf of AIoD, highlighting how the platform serves as a key enabler for research projects—offering tools, visibility, and infrastructure for the development, testing, and sharing of AI research outcomes.
A platform designed for research collaboration and impact
AI-on-Demand is more than a repository—it’s a growing ecosystem that connects researchers, developers, and innovators across Europe. By offering access to datasets, AI tools, software, educational resources, and experimentation environments, the platform empowers projects to not only accelerate their development but also increase the visibility and sustainability of their results.
As projects funded under Horizon Europe explore ways to maximize impact and reach, AIoD stands out as a go-to resource for sharing validated AI solutions, facilitating reuse, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Its alignment with open science principles and its integration into the broader European AI ecosystem make it a powerful asset for digital health and smart health initiatives.
Aligning with SHIFT-HUB’s mission
AIoD’s participation in SHIFT-HUB reinforced the platform’s commitment to supporting data-driven innovation in healthcare—a central theme of the event. With sessions covering the adoption of AI in real-world healthcare, the implications of the European Health Data Space Regulation (EHDS), and new funding opportunities under Horizon Europe, AIoD offered a concrete example of how digital infrastructure can support these ambitious goals.
The brokerage event also provided an excellent opportunity for AIoD community members to engage directly with other innovators, startups, and research institutions in the health sector through 1-on-1 matchmaking sessions—supporting new partnerships and collaborative R&D.
Looking ahead
As interest grows around the integration of AI in healthcare, platforms like AI-on-Demand are poised to play an increasingly critical role—not only in supporting the technical and ethical development of AI systems, but also in amplifying the outcomes of publicly funded research across Europe.
